I traveled down to Page, Arizona last month with my good friend Jim Talaric to hike into the Wave. We made it down there the evening before with enough time to head out to Stud Horse Point. By the time we wandered around on a few dirt roads in what seemed to be the middle of no where, we arrived at the point overlooking the valley below. Stud Horse Point stood out prominently on the rocky ledge as the late day light began to fade. I hadn’t ever been there before and jumped around checking out the possible compositions. Time and light were running out and after circling the rock formation, I returned to basically where I started. I was fortunate to have the skies turn a nice shade of pink after the sun set and made for what turned out to be a beautiful serene image!
