The second visit for sunrise at Two Medicine Lake proved to be just the opposite of the first. The clouds dancing above the mountains to the west were a welcome addition, but the wind whipping across the lake made it a pretty hard to get any kind of reflection in the lake.

My good friend and fellow photographer Luke Tingley and I set up along the bank anyway and waited for the sun to come up. As it gradually started to touch the tops of the peaks, I gave up on trying to get a shot including the lake and focused on the mountains themselves. I was really impressed with how the clouds were swirling around this particular peak and put on my long lens to zoom in close. Shafts of sunlight would break through occasionally and illuminate the landscape. I shot away at the ever changing scene and was really happy to come away with this shot of Pumpelly Pillar and a hovering cloud glowing in the light.
